African Nations Cup: CAF Names African XI After Angola’s Finals
Eto’o and Drogba fail to make it even to the substitutes list

The six-man committee, which met hours before the final, included members Hussein Abdel Moneim, technical director of CAF, Ben Kouffie (Ghana), Chief Onigbinde (Nigeria), Anthony Baffoe (Ghana), Noser Fathy (Egypt) and Maalouch Belhassan (Tunisia).
Africa’s globally revered names like Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o and Seydou Keita are not among those picked. Eto’o and Drogba led their teams to the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Egypt and Algeria respectively.
In a news item posted on cafonline.com, five of Africa’s best are Egyptians, Angola managed two while Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria and Cameroon have one each.
The Egyptians on the list are Essam El Hadary, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Zidan. Others are Madjid Bougherra (Algeria), Alexandre Song (Cameroon), Mabina and Flavio (Angola), Odemwingie (Nigeria) and Asamoah Gyan (Ghana).
