The Zebrette are concerned about the well-being of their players...After the tragic shooting of the Togo team bus in the Angolan province of Cabinda, Italian side Udinese are taking steps to ensure the safety of their players.
According to a statement on the club's official website, the Zebrette have requested the Ghanaian Football Association and FIFA to release Kwadwo Asamoah immediately so that he can return to Udine.
"In reference to the very serious events in Angola during the African Cup of Nations and in protection of the well-being of our player Kwadwo Asamoah, Udinese Calcio have requested the immediate return of our player from the Ghanaian Football Association and FIFA.
"It should also be stressed that the general situation - which itself is very disturbing - is rendered even more dangerous for the Ghanaian national team as they are playing in the same group as Togo and consequently in the place where the cowardly and shocking attack on the Togolese players took place."
