Nigeria’s Michael Eneramo: Tunisia Can Bounce Back At The African Cup Of Nations
The man who played a role in the North African country missing out on the World Cup says the Carthage Eagles can fly again.
Nigerian international striker Michael Eneramo has told
infosfoot.net that although he was happy that his country qualified for the
2010 World Cup, the fact that his side had to eliminate Tunisia on the way was
difficult for him on a personal level.
“It was a little difficult to handle. I tell myself it’s the world of football and that I can only be happy about Nigeria’s qualification but I love Tunisia and they were in our group too. I am sad for my Esperance team-mates, Ousemma [Darragi] and Youssef [Msakni] who both deserved to go to South Africa with me,” he explained.
“However, they have enough pride to bounce back during the African Cup of Nations especially with the return of my coach, Faouzi Benzarti, at the head of the Carthage Eagles.”
The striker, who has not been immune to criticism during his time with the “Blood and Gold” outfit due to his tendency to take longer breaks than he is allotted when he travels back to Nigeria, also added that although he feels perfectly comfortable in the North African country, he is open to the idea of a move abroad once his contract expires in June.
