Report: Abdelmalek Ziaya Drawing Interest From Sochaux
The Algerian striker is on a scoring tear with ES Setif and a move to Europe seems to be beckoning.
According to DZfoot.net, Entente Sportive de Setif forward
Abdelmalek Ziaya is being monitored by FC Sochaux. The French Ligue 1 side
reportedly sent scouts to watch him in action during the first leg of the CAF
Confederations Cup final during which he scored a brace to lift his tally to a
stunning 15 goals in 15 matches in the tournament.
In fact, if one includes Sunday’s goals, the ruthless finisher is currently tied for first place with Japanese forward Shinij Okazaki for top goalscorer worldwide in 2009. His club president has already expressed his willingness to part with his prized asset if he receives a good offer for him.
More importantly, Ziaya may have convinced Algerian national team coach Rabah Saadane that the he is ready for a national team call-up. The Guelma native has a good chance of being incorporated in the Fennecs squad in the lead-up to the African Cup of Nations in Angola.
