The ex-Feyenoord ace is set to return to his former Nigerian club...
Former youth international John Owoeri is close to rejoining his hometown club Warri Wolves, officials have revealed.
"We are negotiating a transfer with Owoeri," top official Timi Ebikagboro informed Goal.com
The Heartland forward, who was recently cleared of drugs charges by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), featured for Wolves when they were known as NPA Seasiders.
He has also starred for Enyimba and Dutch club Feyenoord.
Nigeria league leaders Warri Wolves, who will feature in next year's CAF Confederation Cup, have already signed two former Russia-based stars, Richard Eromoigbe and Temile Omonigho. But while Omonigho has already featured in a couple of matches for the Warri outfit, Eromoigbe is still awaiting his clearance from the Russian FA.
The transfer window in the Nigerian league will reopen for two weeks after the Week 9 matches next weekend.
