The Levski Sofia player is ruing the state of the Moroccan national team.

Levski Sofia defender Youssef Rabeh has offered his opinion to Assabah on the failings of the Moroccan national team, while also wondering why he didn’t receive a call up for their final qualifier, even though Hassan Moumen told him that he would be relying on him.

“The national team coach contacted me by phone to tell me I’d be joining the Atlas Lions, but I was surprised when I saw that my name wasn’t on the list of call-ups,” he said.

“What perplexes me is that I’m consistent and I’m an indisputable starter with my club, where we’re playing the Europa League against big sides such as Lazio and Villarreal.”

The FUS Rabat product also lamented the fact that the Moroccan national team had such a disastrous World Cup qualifying campaign, which ended with them being unable to even book a place at the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Angola.

“No comment. Everything is clear. The level of the Moroccan team is mediocre and the Atlas Lions have never fallen so low,” he stated.
