Zambia's James Chamanga Hat-Trick Buries North Korea

China-based front man grabs a hat-trick against World Cup finalists North Korea...

China-based striker James Chamanga helped himself to a hat-trick as Zambia trounced 2010 World Cup-bound North Korea 4-1 at the Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka in a friendly on Saturday.

Despite fears that Zambia will line up a weakened team as several overseas-based professionals may not be available as a result of the timing of this game, the Copper Bullets still managed to parade six pros including Portugal-based midfielder Rainford Kalaba.

Kalaba, who features for Portuguese side Unaio de Uleiria, had a hand in Zambia's two goals.

His through pass located Chamanga to fire home the opening goal after 12 minutes, and three minutes later, his pass found Sebastian Mwansa on the right wing, who crossed for Chamanga to tap home.

In the 72nd minute, former Moroka Swallows of South Africa striker Chamanga completed his hat-trick.

Substitute Felix Sunzu Jr got Zambia’s fourth goal in stoppage time, but before then Korea netted a face-saving goal from the penalty spot.

Zambia are preparing for next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, where they are drawn in the first round with Cameroon, Gabon and Tunisia.
