Egypt Striker Amr Zaki Out For Three Weeks
The former Wigan frontman has suffered another hamstring injury...
Egypt international striker Amr Zaki will be sidelined for about three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during his team's 1-0 defeat to Algeria in Wednesday's World Cup play-off.
"Zaki is suffering from a torn hamstring," Zamalek doctor, Mostafa Al-Monayeri, told FilGoal.com.
The combative frontman was replaced at half time as Egypt's hopes of reaching their first World Cup since 1990 were dashed by fierce rivals Algeria.
He will miss several Egyptian Premier League games for Zamalek, starting with Wednesday's home tie to Ghazl Mahalla.
Zaki has struggled to hit form since ending his season-long loan with English side Wigan Athletic last term.
The 26-year-old, who was on target as Egypt defeated Algeria 2-0 last week to force a play-off in Sudan, is yet to open his goals account at Zamalek this season.
