2010 Nations Cup Draw: Nigeria Battle Mozambique Again
The Super Eagles will do battle with Mozambique again at Angola 2010...
Nigeria will renew their rivalry against Mozambique after both teams were drawn in Group C of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations from January following the draw for the tournament in Luanda on Friday afternoon.
Star-studded Nigeria barely survived Mozambique at the dreaded Machava Stadium in Maputo in a combined Nations and World Cup qualifier in March, before they grabbed a late winner against the Mambas in October.
Defending champions Egypt and Benin are the other teams in Group C. This group will be based in the city of Benguela.
'The Group of Death' of the 27th edition of the Nations Cup is Group B headed by 1992 champions the Ivory Coast in Lubango. They will face fellow World Cup finalists Ghana; Burkina Faso, who they beat to a 2010 World Cup ticket, and Togo.
Hosts Angola must now rate their chances of improving on their best-ever Nations Cup performance of a quarter-final finish as they were drawn against Algeria, Mali and Malawi in Luanda.
Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will head Group D based in Cabinda, where they will battle Gabon, Zambia and Tunisia. Cameroon and Gabon also clashed in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Nations Cup kicks off on January 10.
