Christopher Samba Extends Blackburn Contract Until 2014
Congolese centre back Christopher Samba just extended his contract with Blackburn Rovers until the summer of 2014.
Congolese International defender Christopher Samba (25 years old) has extended his contract with Blackburn Rovers until 2014.
The French-born Samba arrived at Ewood Park from German side Hertha SC Berlin in January 2007 during the winter window for a relatively small fee of €550.000, and has not disappointed his club since, scoring nine goals in 109 appearances.
The chairman of the club, John Williams explained their decision to the club's website:
"The deal is richly deserved through his performances over the past few seasons. He demonstrated a tremendous attitude in the last campaign when playing in an unfamiliar role as a striker."
Strangely enough, Samba played up-top as a forward last season while the club was battling to remain in the Premier League. The only time he did not play was when he was affected by the H1N1 flu.
