Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa, has put the national football league on hold to pave way for the national team, Amavubi Stars', to prepare well ahead of their decisive November 14 African National Cup qualifier against Zambia.
"The league will resume after the Zambia qualifier," Ferwafa's CEO Jules Kalisa told the New Times.
The game is a must win for both teams as the victor will clinch the single remaining spot for the African Cup of Nations.
Already qualified Algeria, who lead the group, and Egypt who are second have taken the two out of three places for the continental games.
At the moment in the domestic league, reigning champions APR, Atraco and Etincelles jointly lead the standings with nine points from three matches so far played.
