Amuneke will be given the opportunity to test himself at the highest level of the Nigerian domestic game...
Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Amuneke is set to take over as coach of Ocean Boys of Brass after he was fired by lower league club Julius Berger recently.
Ocean Boys general manager Ogola Anthony has confirmed the appointment of Amuneke, who featured for Catalan giants Barcelona between 1996 and 2000. He also starred for Zamalek of Egypt and Portugal's Sporting Lisbon.
"We have completed a deal to have Amuneke as coach and he will soon resume with us," Anthony told SportsDay.
The 38-year-old Amuneke, who got his coaching papers in Europe, was sacked midway through his first coaching job with former club Julius Berger, who feature in the lower divisions in Nigeria, after a clash with the outfit's top officials.
Ocean Boys were founded seven years ago. They won the Nigeria Premier League title in 2006 and two years later clinched the national cup.
