There are still doubts about whether Heartland's star forward will feature in Sunday's final...
Nigeria's Heartland have informed Goal.com that they are yet to be informed about whether striker John Owoeri has been cleared to feature in Sunday's first leg final of the CAF Champions League.
"We received a letter from CAF notifying us before our semi-final against Kano Pillars, that Owoeri has been suspended for more than one match and that was why we did not use him for either legs of the semi-final," Heartland team manager Emeka Iwuagwu told Goal.com
"We will raise this issue during the pre-match meeting Saturday evening."
Owoeri received his second booking of the championship in Heartland's group game away to Monomotapa of Zimbabwe.
Officials disclosed that the former Feyenoord ace has been training with Heartland ahead of the Champions League final.
He scored a goal and created another as Heartland beat Mazembe 2-0 in September in a Group B match of the annual tournament.
The 'Naze Millionaires' have received a huge boost leading in Sunday's big game after all their outstanding match bonuses and salaries were paid off.
In the meantime, a TP Mazembe delegation of over 180 people have stormed Owerri for Sunday's clash. They arrived in two chartered flights on Friday.
