TP Mazembe of DR Congo are due in the eastern Nigerian town of Owerri on Thursday ahead of their CAF Champions League final first leg match this weekend, officials have disclosed.
"They have informed us of their arrival on Thursday by a chartered flight. One of their top officials has been in Owerri since Sunday," Heartland team manager Emeka Iwuagwu told Goal.com
Sunday's clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri will be the third this year between the two clubs who were drawn together in Group B of this year's Champions League.
Mazembe won the first clash 2-0 at home only for Heartland to avenge this loss in Owerri with a 2-0 victory.
In the meantime, Heartland have stepped up their preparations for Sunday's final.
Iwuagwu told Goal.com that the Naze Millionaires have been putting the finishing touches to their training in Nnewi, while the club have paid the players all their signing-on fees as a way of motivating them ahead of this final.
The winner of this year's Champions League will represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in December.
