Defending champions APR's Dutch coach, Erik Paske, risks a touchline ban after he was sent from the bench during Saturday's league opener against Police at Mumena stadium.
Paske was shown a straight
red card by referee Michel Gasingwa after interfering with play as
Jimmy Gatete inspired the Police side to press hard for a point.
The Ferwafa Chief Executive
Officer Jules Kalisa told New Times Sport yesterday that Paske's
fate will be known later this week after a meeting between the federation
and the coaching body, an association responsible for the welfare of
local club coaches.
"In normal circumstances,
a coach who has been sent off is banned from the touchline but we are
waiting for the coaching body's stand before we take any action,"
Paske walked onto the pitch
to kick out a ball that had been thrown from the crowd but Gasingwa
did not like the gesture and reacted by dismissing the coach.
A brace from Bokota Labama
and Lwamba Bebeto saw the reigning champions through against a spirited
and hard tackling Police side.
