Kano Pillars Coach Ivo Sajh Promises Bonus For Victory Against Heartland
The Nigerian club are pulling all the stops to ensure they overturn a 4-0 loss away to Heartland in a CAF Champions League first leg semi-final match...
Kano Pillars Slovenian coach, Ivo Sajh, has promised to surrender his entire bonus of $50,000 to the team should they overturn a four-goal deficit they suffered against fellow Nigerian club, Heartland, in the first leg semi-final of the CAF Champions League.
"I have told the players that I will give them my bonus of $50,000 should they cancel the four goals we conceded against Heartland a week ago," Sajh told Goal.com.
"We want to make the impossible possible. My players are very positive characters and they have assured me they will deliver on Saturday after a poor day in the office in Owerri."
Sajh added, "In my 31 years as a coach, I made a big mistake by changing a winning horse against Heartland on Sunday. I have owned up to this mistake to both the players and club management. I will stick with my game plan from now on."
The Slovenian paid out over $5,000 to the players when they eliminated six-time African champions Al Ahly of Egypt in the third round of the competition.
