Ghana To Camp In South Africa Ahead Of African Nations Cup
Ghana will set up base in Nelspruit, South Africa ahead of their 2010 Nations Cup campaign in Angola, barring a last-minute change of mind.
The Black Stars will be chasing a fifth African title in Angola next
year and have chosen South Africa as their training base in the
build-up to the tournament, according to KickOffGhana.com.
The team will spend the period between December 27 and January 6 in South Africa before flying to Angola four days before the start of the tournament.
Ghana FA officials travelled to South Africa two weeks ago to check out the base, and even though they say it is likely they will camp there, they suggest nothing has been finalised.
The SA camping base will be a departure from Ghana’s preferred destination of Naivasha, Kenya, which served Ghana’s various national teams well in the build-up to major tournaments.
