CAF Fine Etoile Du Sahel For Crowd Incident During Champions League Tie

The continental ruling body have hit the Tunisian club in the pocket for their fans unruly behaviour during a CAF Champions League match in Sousse.

Etoile du Sahel

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have fined Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel $10,000 after their fans threw missiles and put up flares during their Champions League Group B match against Heartland of Nigeria last month.

The top Tunisian club will also have to cough up another $6,500 in fines after five of their players were booked during a qualifying match against ASOE Chlef of Algeria on March 14 in Sousse.

Other Tunisian clubs did not escape the wrath of CAF either as Club Africain were fined $5,000 as a result of having four of their players booked in another Champions League qualifying match against Mali's Djoliba in March.

Stade Tunisien will also have to pay the same fine when four of their players got into the bad book of the referee during a CAF Confederation Cup qualifier against another Malian club, Stade Malien, on March 15 in Tunis.
