Recent reports in South Africa have suggested that Oliver and Blaise Kiaku were no longer at the club, because they were not good enough to make the cut.
Kiaku, who signed a two-year contract, is back in the DRC playing for
AS Vita Club and Bucs administrator Floyd Mbele has, on previous
occasions, said the player will return to Pirates once he secures a
Oliver was at training with the team on Monday at the Johannesburg Stadium according to KickOff.com and Abong made it clear that the player is still a Pirate.
“I know Blaise is gone, but that has nothing to do with Frank. He has
signed a three-year contract with Pirates and he belongs to them. In
fact, I know Frank was going to play against Platinum Stars, but his
work-permit again failed to come through,” Abong said.
“I’m not even aware of stories that he is not here. He is here and as
for being good enough, it makes me laugh because, at 17, he was playing
for Palermo in Italy,” Abong added.
“I will let you know if there
is anything, but for now, you can write that Frank is still very much a
part of Pirates.”
