Nigeria's under-17 coach, John Obuh, has hailed his team for their performances thus far on a gruelling playing tour of Ghana ahead of the FIFA World Cup, which the country will host in October.

The Golden Eaglets, as the team are known, have won all three matches they have played in Ghana including that against WAFU Cup campaigners Liberty Professionals.

"I'm most encouraged by what the team have done so far. There has been a lot of improvements and they showed great character by coming from behind to beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 in one of these matches," Obuh informed Goal.com

"There is still a lot of room for improvement but playing against much older, more experienced players away from home has really toughened the boys within a short time."

On Tuesday, the team beat Mysterious Dwarfs 2-1 in Tema.

They are billed to tackle either league kings Hearts of Oak or runners-up Asante Kotoko for what will prove their sternest test during this playing tour.

Team officials also said the Eaglets are lined up for a challenge match against a team that won the Africa Copa tournament in South Africa recently. The match will be played in Lagos immediately on their return from Ghana.
