Owino has cemented his place in the national team and a move to Germany will take his game to the next level...
According to a report posted on kenyafootball.com, Owino, who has been a regular in the Kenyan back line throughout the ongoing 2010 World Cup qualifying games, jetted to Germany on last week.
The 28 year-old trial was assisted by Harambee Stars head coach, Antoine Hey, who spoke highly about the defender. "I have recommended him to Fortuna because he is a really good player," Hey said.
After leaving Tusker in 2005, Owino moved to Tanzania, where he turned out for giants Simba SC before decamping to arch rivals Young Africans (Yanga) last season. His stint at Yanga has thus far yielded a league title.
Owino is expected to attend training along with eight other players on trial before his fate in Germany is to be known.
