Ghanaian League Set For Photo-Finish After Hearts of Oak Slip Again
Arch-rivals Hearts and Kotoko will battle for the league crown all the way to the finish line...
The recent poor run of Ghanaian league leaders Hearts of Oak continued as they dropped points at home in a 1-1 draw with Wa All Stars in a rearranged match at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The first clash at the weekend was rained off.
Douglas Nkrumah opened scoring for Hearts in the 40th minute, only for the visitors to restore parity five minutes after the restart.
The draw drew the wrath of Hearts fans, who openly criticised coach Nii Noi Thompson and his assistants.
Hearts now have a two-point advantage over closest rivals Asante Kotoko, with just four matches to play.
The Accra club have struggled in the second half of the season, going five matches without a win.
They are now under pressure to win away at Kessben on Sunday, a result they need if they are to fend off Kotoko as this year's championship promises to go all the way to the wire.
