Officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have disclosed that they are close to agreeing friendly matches against Japan and Angola for later in the year.
The Black Stars will play Japan in the Dutch city of Utrecht on September 9, if the GFA agrees to the terms proposed by the Asians, who have already qualifed for the 2010 World Cup.
The game will be played three days after Ghana have hosted Sudan in a Group Four World Cup qualifying match.
The Black Stars could book their own ticket to the World Cup, should they beat Sudan in Accra and Benin draw with Mali in Cotonou.
The game could, then, kick-start Ghana's build-up to the 2010 World Cup in earnest.
Ghana have also been penciled in a friendly against 2010 Africa Cup of Nations hosts Angola in November.
The GFA is expected to accept the invitation to play the game in Luanda to open a new national stadium in the capital city, ahead of their staging the tournament in January.
