As was predicted, The stallions of Burkina-Faso played their hearts out in Blantyre and managed to beat the Flames of Malawi 0-1.
Group 5 Standings
With this victory, they put the pressure on Cote d'Ivoire and take the top spot in Group E.
This Saturday afternoon, in Blantyre's Kamuzu Stadium, Burkina Faso managed to win their second match in a row against a valiant Malawi team, who just didn't seem to have the right weapons to counter the central Africans.
Moumouni Dagano, as usual one might want to say, was the providential man scoring the goal at the 70th minute on a Kaboré pass.
Dagano is not the most famous of African big strikers. The ex-Sochaux player, who now plays in Al Khor in Qatar, is far from competing with the fame of Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o and Frederic Kanoute.
But at the moment, with 10 goals scored so far during the joint qualifiers, he's four goals ahead of his competitors and the de-facto lead scorer of the qualifiers for the CAN and World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
Burkina Faso now puts the pressure on Cote d'Ivoire, who will face a very skilled Guinean team tomorrow in Conakry.
