Bilel Ifa To Take Part In Mediterranean Games With Tunisia

Despite being a member of the senior squad, the right-back will still play with the U-21s at this summer’s regional event in Italy.

Club Africain defender Bilel Ifa is set to feature in Tunisia’s U-21 team when they compete in the Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy, even though he is currently part of the senior squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Kenya.

The news was announced by Olympic team coach Skander Kasri after consultation with Carthage Eagles trainer Humberto Coelho, who saw no reason why the youngster shouldn’t represent his country in both age groups.

Meanwhile, Kasri confirmed the news that Ifa’s club-mate, striker Hamza Messaadi, would not be travelling with his side given that he just underwent surgery on his knee. Youssef Msakni is also injured but will be fit in time for the competition.

Tunisia were drawn in Group D along with Spain and Albania. They must finish first in the group to proceed to the second round.
