Tunisia To Train In Portugal Prior To Qualifier Versus Nigeria

Humberto Coelho will take the Carthage Eagles to his home country to prepare to host Nigeria in May.

The Tunisian Football Federation has announced that the North African country’s national team will train in Portugal ahead of their highly important World Cup qualifier versus group rivals Nigeria, who have chosen Malta as their home base.

The training camp will be held from the 11th to the 18th of June and will follow their June 6th qualifier versus Mozambique. There is also an earlier three day camp being held in Tunis to prepare for the country’s May 27th friendly versus Sudan.

After getting off to a winning start versus Kenya in Nairobi, coach Humberto Coelho will be hoping that his team can do the same at home versus their upcoming visitors. Taking maximum points in Rades stadium would give Tunisia a very good chance of finishing top of the group but supporters of the national side are well aware that it won’t be a simple task.

The Carthage Eagles surprisingly lost against visiting Burkina Faso in the previous round of qualification. While the result occurred under the helm of former coach Roger Lemerre, the players will be determined to not let this happen again in the future.
