CHAN Star Given Singuluma Joins Finnish Club FC Haka

The Zambian has made a switch to Finland...

Top scorer at the inaugural Championship of African Nations (CHAN), Given Singuluma, has signed an eight-month contract with Finnish club, FC Haka.

The Zambia international striker, who was released from his contract with South African club Bay United, has said he signed for FC Haka till November with the hope of moving to a bigger league in Europe.

"I have signed a short-term contract with FC Haka till November. I plan to use the Finnish league, which is not really a very competitive league, as a stepping stone for me to move to a bigger league in Europe, like that of France," said Siguluma

Singuluma, who netted five goals at the CHAN in Ivory Coast earlier this year, has been linked with several clubs in Europe since his exploits in Abidjan, where Zambia finished third in a competition reserved for players in their respective domestic leagues.

Recently, Zambian club Zanaco had declared the striker wanted after he failed to turn up for training and was sighted at the international airport reportedly on his way for trials with an unnamed Israeli second division club.
