Olympiacos & AEK Athens Interested In Moroccan Star Jaouad Zairi

The winger looks to be on the move this summer but could remain in Greece as Olympiacos and AEK Athens are interested in his services.

Greek Super League: Asteras Tripolis - Panathinaikos / Zairi - Christodoulopoulos (INTIME)
Asteras Tripolis player Jaouad Zairi has confirmed his desire to leave his current club when his contract expires in June.

Sources close to the player have said that his departure is a virtual certainty because the 27-year-old would like to play with a more ambitious side and win titles in the process.

“I’d like to stay in Greece, so if a big club asked me then why not?” Zairi said when asked about his preferred destination by mountakhab.net. Moroccans retain high hopes in Zairi, despite the fact that he has yet to live up to their lofty expectations.

The fact that there is strong competition in his position in the Atlas Lions setup has had a negative effect on his international career but moving to a club with a higher profile could help his bid to regain a place in Roger Lemerre’s side.

The player is reportedly open to a switch to either the English Premier League or the Spanish Primera Division if clubs from either approach him.
