Algerian League Limits Foreign Players

The Algeria Football Federation has announced that by the 2010/2011 season, a club can only register one foreign player.
This season, a club is entitled to sign three foreigners but by next season they will be allowed only two foreign players.
This season, there are 34 players from elsewhere Africa taking part in the competition. All clubs, except for the USM El Harrach, have at least one foreigner.
Altogether, Cameroon and the Ivory Coast have the most number of players in the Algerian league - 10 players each. Mali have five players while Niger have two playing for NA Hussein Dey.
Burkina Faso, Congo, Gambia, Guinea, Mauritania, Chad and Tunisia are each represented by one player. There are also a Portuguese and another player from Venezuela in the league.
Foreign players can only feature for clubs in the Algerian top flight.
