Algeria To Get Record Bonus For World Cup Ticket
Algerian national team players are set to receive a hefty sum if they manage to punch their ticket to the 2010 World Cup...
Each Algerian player will receive a record 100,000 Euros if they qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa according to the President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Hamid Haddadj
Haddadj further announced that each player will pocket 20,000 Euros for qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Angola in Janaury 2010.
The North Africans are drawn in a tough group that includes African champions and perennial rivals Egypt, Zambia and Rwanda.
The winner of the group will qualify for the World Cup while the top three places teams pick a ticket to the Nations Cup.
Algeria first qualified for the World Cup in 1982. They also reached the global finals four years later in Mexico, but ever since have failed to make it to the final tournament of world soccer's showpiece event.
They last featured at the Nations Cup finals five years ago in Tunisia.
