French Strugglers consider SA's Van Heerden
French league bottom club Le Havre are running the rule over South Africa international Elrio Van Heerden.
Le Havre are in the hunt to improve their fire-power after champions Olympique Lyonnais refused a bid for Anthony Mounier. HAC officials believe that the 25-year-old Club Brugge winger or attacking midfielder could fit the bill to improve their offence.
Capped 22 times by South Africa, Elrio Van Heerden is a very technical and explosive player, who has been featuring in the Belgian top flight for the past two seasons. He is also considered as one of the best passers of the ball in Belgium.
Le Havre are focussed on signing an effective forward in an effort to stay put in the French top division.
Several top strikers including Angola international Manucho of European champions Manchester United have been linked with the club, who are bottom of the 20-club French Ligue 1 with 12 points from 19 matches.
