Last year, Sabri was outstanding as Iraq sensationally won the Asian Cup and he was named the tournament's best goalkeeper.
He will therefore feature in next year's FIFA Confederations Cup.
"I met up with Ismaili's officials and we have agreed on a contract and worked out all the details," Sabri disclosed in a television interview.
He is expected to replace Mohammed Sobhi, who has dropped some costly clangers.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper will be the fourth foreigner on the books of Ismaili. Compatriot Mostafa Karim, Samuel Johnson from Guinea and newly-signed Nigerian striker John Jambo.
New Brazilian coach Ricardo Ferreira from Sudan's Al Hilal has also made enquiries about the availability of Mozambique international defender Dario Khan from the Sudanese champions.
