SA Seeded For 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup
Hosts South Africa have been seeded for the 2009 Fifa Confederations Cup.
Bafana Bafana are in pot A along with world champions Italy, European champions Spain and Brazil, who are the reigning South American champions.
African champions Egypt will automatically be in pot B as two teams from the same confederation cannot be drawn in the same group.
The other qualifiers are United States of America, Asian champions Iraq and New Zealand.
The eight teams will be drawn into two groups of four teams with matches in four venues across South Africa.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on a knockout basis.
The draw takes place at the Sandton Conference Center in Joahnnesburg Saturday afternoon.
The tournament, considered as a dress rehearsal for the 2010 World Cup also to be staged by South Africa, will kick off June 14 with the final on June 28 in Johannesburg.
