African Nations Cup: Ivory Coast Star Yaya Toure Disappointed With Sulley Muntari’s Absence For Ghana Clash
Toure thinks the Elephants must take advantage of the Inter midfielder's absence...
The absence of midfielder Sulley Muntari in the Ghana squad favours Ivory Coast in Friday’s Group B encounter, notes the Elephants’ midfielder Yaya Toure.
"I'm very disappointed about this situation about Muntari, that he will not play but it's good for us and it's good for Ivory Coast because Muntari is a good player and very important player for Ghana.
"I want to win this game because it's very important for Ivory Coast to win this game,” the Barcelona ace told Joy FM, a local FM station in Ghana from Cabinda.
The Inter midfielder was expelled from the Black Stars' 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations on disciplinary grounds.
Ivory Coast were held to a scoreless draw in their opener against Burkina Faso. They need a win against Ghana to guarantee their stay in the competition.
