Ghana can make it to the finals at the upcoming African Cup of Nations despite the absence of captain Stephen Appiah and talented midfielder Sulley Muntari, according to striker Matthew Amoah.

“I don’t really think their absence will be a problem at all. We have good players who can play and I think they can do the job well,” Amoah told Tidesports.

“I spoke to Stephen Appiah and I know he’s injured but I haven’t spoken to Sulley Muntari yet. It’s the coach who takes the decisions.”

Coach Milovan Rajevac called up six national Under-20 players in addition to Hans Sarpei and Moussa Narry who have struggled for first team football this season.

Appiah failed to make it to Angola 2010 as a result of injury whilst Inter’s Muntari was axed for refusing to apologise for misconduct ahead of an international friendly.

Ghana is paired up with Togo, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso in the event that starts on January 10.
