The Ghana Football Association is hoping that FIFA completes midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng’s nationality switch in time for him to join the Black Stars ahead of the Nations Cup.

"It is the personal details of his father that was holding it down but we should get that sorted out by today (Monday).

"What I don’t know is whether we can finish that with FIFA before the Christmas break," Randy Abbey spokesman for the GFA told kickoffGhana.com.

He said that FIFA are still awaiting documents confirming the Ghanaian descent of the midfielder who has already played for Germany at the junior level.

The 22-year-old was born in Germany to a Ghanaian father but FIFA said they have scant details on his dad's status as a native of the West African country.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is set for talks with the Portsmouth player who has been impressive for the Premier League outfit this season.
