The midfielder has been accused of picking a quarrel with some senior players by local media, but he has denied it outrightGhana midfielder Andre Ayew has denied a growing rift between players of the Black Stars that caused them at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
Reports making rounds in some local media have it that the Marseille player is at loggerheads with some key members of the team, but he has shot down the reports.
“This is completely false,” the left-footed player is quoted on KickOffGhana. “The entire squad was united to end Ghana’s trophy wait.”
Ghana finished fourth at the 28th edition of the continental showpiece after losing 2-0 to Mali in the third place playoff. Ayew said they have not given up yet and will make amends in South Africa 2013.
“You go into a competition with a lot of desire and ambition. We really wanted to bring the cup to Ghana, but we did not do what we had to do on the pitch – take our chances,” he said.
"We are very disappointed, but we are going to erase these mistakes and push forward to make the nation proud.”
