thumbnail Hello,

The Zambia gaffer is proud with his team for their achievements at the Africa Cup...

Zambia impressed during the group stage of the African Nations Cup with good performances against Tunisia, Cameroon and Gabon, but their tournament came to an abrupt halt in the quarter-finals.

Nigeria proved to be too strong for the Copper Bullets, knocking them out on spot-kicks. Head coach Herve Renard wasn't too disappointed though, instead praising his men for their outstanding display in Angola.

"Tonight we did not lose against a better team, but against Nigeria, which is a strong team and qualified for the World Cup. I'm very proud of my players. Congratulations to Nigeria, I wish them the best for the semi-finals," said Renard, according to football365.co.za.

"Our strategy was good, but unfortunately we did not score. We missed chances but no problem; Zambians can be very proud of their team. I am very satisfied with the play of the team, I cannot blame my players, who played very well and dominated the game."
