Sydney FC have bolstered their options in attack after signing Panama international Yairo Yau on loan for the 2012-13 season.
Yau, 22, will link up with the A-League outfit on a season-long loan from Sporting San Miguelito in Panama upon completing a medical. It is is second loan stint away from the club, having spent time at Colombian Categoria Primera A club Deportivo Cali in 2011.
Yau has represented his country on four occasions, scoring one goal, and Sydney FC coach Ian Crook was delighted to land his latest acquisition.
"We're very excited about being able to entice Yau to Sydney FC," Crook said.
"He's a current Panamanian international and the boy can play. He's quick, direct, can play as a striker or a wide man on either side and he can cross a ball. He's played recently for Panama and we’re thrilled he will be joining us for the 2012-13 season.
"We now have a good group of attacking options with Yau and Kruno Lovrek joining Joel Chianese, Nick Carle, Brett Emerton, Mitch Mallia, Ali Abbas and Dimi Petratos to give our members and fans some excitement up front."
Yau has scored six goals in 91 league appearances in Panama and Colombia over the past two years.
He will arrive in Sydney for pre-season training, which begins on July 16, and is the sixth new signing at the club ahead of the coming campaign.
Croatian striker Lovrek, defensive utility Adam Griffiths, former Melbourne Victory full-back Fabio, ex-Newcastle Jets attacker Ali Abbas and goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic have arrived at the Sky Blues, while Hagi Gligor, Mitch Mallia and Daniel Petkovski have been promoted from the club's National Youth League team.
Yau is also the fifth and final visa signing for Sydney.
