Bahrain international Sayed Mohamad Adnan leaves Australian champions Brisbane Roar for Middle East return

The 29-year-old central defender played a big part in the Roar's 2011-12 championship success, but has decided to return to the Gulf Region for family reasons
Brisbane Roar has confirmed Bahraini defender Sayed Mohamed Adnan has decided to return to the Middle East.The 29-year-old central defender, who made 30 appearances for the club on their way to the 2011-12 A-League championship, has decided to move back to West Asia for family reasons.
Roar coach Rado Vidosic thanked Adnan for his contribution to the club in a statement on Monday.
“Mohamed has moved on,” Vidosic said. “He has decided to stay in the Gulf Region, I am not sure where he’ll be playing yet but we wish him all the best.
“He was a very important part of our team last season and we will try to replace him - we’ve still got a couple of overseas spots left to fill.”
Adnan, capped 66 times for his country, joined Roar on a one-year deal in August 2011, having left Bahrain following his detention for allegedly being part of anti-government protests.
