The 25-year-old has been rewarded for his solid work between the posts in the Liga Orangina, shifting to Vitoria under Jose Mota for the 2012-13 campaign
Australian-American goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell will play in the Portuguese Primeira Liga in season 2012-13 after his move to Vitoria Setubal was confirmed.
The 25-year-old has signed from second-tier outfit Atletico Clube de Portugal, who he joined in before the 2011-12 campaign after leading North American Soccer League club Carolina Railhawks.
Reports of the former Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday trainee's move to Vitoria had surfaced on Thursday, but the shot-stopper confirmed to Goal.com on Tuesday he had signed a deal at the club.
Patterson-Sewell immediately made the No.1 position at Atletico his own, keeping seven clean sheets in 11 appearances as the newly promoted club led the Liga Orangina by a point in December.
The minnows struggled to maintain their form with a threadbare squad, enduring a change of coach in the second half of the season as they finished in 11th on the table.
But Patterson-Sewell's 12 clean sheets in 29 appearances have done enough to impress Vitoria, who finished 11th in the Portuguese top flight under manager Jose Mota.
