Decisions edge closer in future of coaching positions at Sydney FC & Brisbane Roar

The coaching merry-go-round looms as one of the biggest stories of the A-League's off-season, but it seems there may be resolutions for two clubs soon
Sydney FC hope to have a new coach within "the next seven to 10 days", while Brisbane Roar manager Ange Postecoglou appears to be nearing a decision on his own future.The Sky Blues have been linked to several high-profile coaches since it was announced in February title-winning coach Vitezslav Lavicka was set to return to his native Czech Republic when his side's season ended.
The likes of Gianfranco Zola, Roy Keane, Dwight Yorke have been touted as potential replacements, though speculation has died down in recent weeks.
But now, according to interim chief executive officer Stefan Kamasz, an appointment is "not that far away".
"We hope that in the next seven to 10 days we will be in a position to tell the members and the fans where we are going with the coach," Kamasz said at the inaugural Sydney FC Schools Cup at The Kings School in North Parramatta.
"There are some negotiations that are going on at the moment but obviously they are in confidence, so we're not that far away in my opinion.
"We have been talking to a number of players with a view to signing them down the track but ultimately that depends on who the coach will be, so we've had to put some of those discussions on hold until the coach is signed but we're not that far away in my view."
Postecoglou, meanwhile, again gave little away on his future when speaking on Monday, but indicated a decision could be nigh.
"We'll have some talks this week, and I'm sure there will be a resolution this week and we will move on from there," he said.
"Right now I'm enjoying being the coach of the championship-winning side."
