James Troisi plays down talk of A-League move despite ongoing Kayserispor pay dispute

Kayserispor winger and Australia international James Troisi remains adamant that his future does not lie in the A-League, despite reports linking him to a move to the Newcastle Jets.

As was reported on Goal.com, the left-footed midfielder has recently been involved in a pay dispute with his employers and the 23-year-old admits that he has been in contact with Professional Footballers Australia, but only in order to receive advice from the players' body, not to discuss a move to the A-League.

"I've been in Turkey a while now and my main aim is try and resolve the issues I'm facing, the bottom line is I haven't been paid for a while and the situation is hopefully going to be resolved." Troisi told The World Game.

"People are jumping the gun a bit on coming back home. I am still young and Australia really hasn't crossed my mind at all.

"I love playing for Australia and I feel I have been doing well for my club up to now.”

Newcastle currently sit in ninth position on the A-League ladder and have been looking to give their squad a boost with a big-name signing.

Coach Gary van Egmond has made it no secret that he is looking to adopt a high-tempo style of play at the Jets, an approach to which Troisi has become accustomed in the Super Lig.

Troisi went on to suggest that a move elsewhere in Europe was the most likely outcome of his current situation and, with the transfer window coming to a close, the midfielder will want to sort things out fast.

"It's really hard to see how this will play out," the 23-year-old added.

"If anything happens it will probably be at the last minute."

Troisi, who has been capped eight times for Australia, has scored five goals in 15 matches for Kayserispor so far this season.
