Aussies In Europe

Goal.com's Chris Paraskevas brings you up to date with the involvements of Australian players on the continental club scene.

Walk of shame: Everton's Tim Cahill heading past his manager David Moyes and down the tunnel after being sent off in the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.
Harry Kewell (Galatasaray, Turkey)

Was a constant menace for the opposition for 75 minutes of his side’s 2-1 home win over Buraspor before being forced off with what has been described as a minor foot injury by Galatasaray officials, putting him in doubt for his club’s midweek UEFA Cup clash with Hamburg.

Mark Viduka (Newcastle United, England)

Another injury ruled him out of the 2-1 loss at home to Manchester United last week; Newcastle were not involved in the weekend’s FA Cup action.

Tim Cahill (Everton, England)

Helped his team into an FA Cup semi-final appearance at Wembley, starting their quarter-final against Middlesbrough as a forward before moving back into midfield and providing the cross from which his side opened the scoring in their 2-1 win.

Mark Schwarzer (Fulham, England)

Can hardly be blamed for the four goals he conceded as Fulham were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester United, 4-0.

Lucas Neill (West Ham United, England)

Another full game as financially unsure West Ham scored a 1-0 win away against Wigan Athletic during midweek.

Brett Emerton, Vince Grella (Blackburn Rovers, England)

Grella was replaced at half-time of his side’s goalless draw at home to Everton last week.

Emerton remains a long-term injury victim.

Mark Bresciano (Palermo, Italy)

Suspended after his red card last week. Palermo managed a 2-0 win away at Fiorentina in his absence.

Jason Culina (PSV Eindhoven, Netherlands)

Similarly suspended and didn’t play during his side’s 1-1 draw away against FC Twente.

Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow, Russia)

Played a full game during his club’s midweek friendly against German outfit Rot-Weiss, a match they won 4-1.

Scott McDonald (Celtic, Scotland)

After his match-winning double against Kilmarnock, was powerless to prevent his side being dumped out of the Scottish Cup by St. Mirren.

Carl Valeri (Grosseto, Italy)

Wasn’t in the squad that beat Ascoli 1-0 at home.

Richard Garcia (Hull City, England)

A last-minute substitute as his team scored a crucial 1-0 away win against Fulham.

Scott Chipperfield (FC Basel, Switzerland)

Came on as a half-time substitute against FC Aarau and helped them to a 3-1 home win, all the goals arriving after his introduction.

Joshua Kennedy (Karlsruhe, Germany)

Again wasn’t in the matchday squad as his side lost 1-0 away at Wolfsburg, leaving them last.

Bruce Djite, James Troisi, Mile Jedinak (Genclerbirligi, Turkey)

A full game for Jedinak and a last-minute goal for Troisi during a 2-0 home win over Ankaragucu, as Djite came off the bench in the dying moments of the match.

Brett Holman (AZ Alkmaar, Netherlands)

An unused substitute as Alkmaar scored a 1-0 away win over Nijmegen.

Michael Petkovic (Sivasspor, Turkey)

Conceded a late goal as his side were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Ankaraspor, staying top of the table.

Nick Carle (Crystal Palace, England)

Not in the squad for the 2-1 home win over Preston North End.

Adam Federici (Reading, England)

Played a full game as his side were held to a 2-2 home draw with Charlton Athletic this morning.

Mile Sterjovski, Ruben Zadkovich (Derby County, England)

Sterjovski was replaced in the 63rd minute during his side’s 1-1 draw away against Southampton, while Zadkovich was not included in Nigel Clough’s squad.

David Carney (Norwich City, England)

Played the last five minutes of his side's 2-0 home win over Cardiff City.

Nathan Burns (AEK Athens, Greece)

Came off the bench at the weekend to make his second competitive appearance for AEK Athens this season; by that point they were up 5-1 against Panserraikos.

Matthew Spiranovic, Dario Vidosic (FC Nuremberg, Germany)

Neither again in the first team squad at the weekend.

Patrick Kisnorbo (Leicester City, England)

Yet to make his return from injury.

Chris Coyne (Colchester United, England)

Played a full game as his side scored a 3-2 home win over Swindon Town.

Neil Kilkenny (Leeds United, England)

Scored a cracking goal and set up another as his side romped to a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town, before being replaced in the second half.

Trent McClenahan (Hamilton, Scotland)

Not in the squad that was thumped 5-1 by Rangers in the Scottish Cup.
