Sydney’s Kosmina Upset At Red Card
Sydney FC coach John Kosmina admitted he was confused by the second half sending-off of midfielder Terry McFlynn and would be pursuing the matter.
Sydney midfielder Terry McFlynn was shown a straight red card by referee Ben Williams for dissent in United’s 2-0 loss to Adelaide at the Hindmarsh Stadium, while lying on the ground with a knee injury and awaiting substitution.
"We're going to pursue the matter because we think it was maybe a little bit harsh," said coach John Kosmina.
"We're a bit disappointed that he wasn't allowed medical treatment. He's walking onto the team bus on crutches with cruciate ligament damage."
The overall performance of his team however came under praise from the Sydney boss.
"I thought it was the best 90 minutes we've played together for a few weeks," he said.
"We dominated the first half. They got on top of us after the second goal."
