Getafe To Battle With Everton For Defender Philippe Senderos
The capital club are thought to be ready to launch a bid for the stopper...
The defender has been surplus to requirements for Gunners coach Arsene Wenger after spending last season on loan at AC Milan, and the player has made no secret of his desire to move away from the London club in the January transfer window.
Everton boss David Moyes is keen on the Swiss international, and Atletico Madrid have also enquired to his availability, but according to Spanish publication Marca, Getafe have emerged as front-runners to land the 24-year old.
President Angel Torres has allegedly been in contact with Arsenal in order to discuss a deal for the central-defender, after being instructed by coach Michel that Senderos could be a useful addition as the Madrid-based side look to return to European football.
Getafe may have cash to spend should the transfer of striker Roberto Soldado goes through as expected, with English side Blackburn Rovers and La Liga rivals Valencia both though to be ready to launch bids.
