CLUB BRUGGE

Stijnen: 6 -
Neither of the stoppers were greatly troubled on a night of precious few chances. Saved well from Machado in the first half but that was about it.

Hoefkens: 5 -
Was outfoxed by Machado when the Toulouse starman flicked the ball over his head which the defender didn't seem to know anything about.

Alcaraz: 5.5 -
Crept forward when he could and forced a save out of Valverde with an attempt shortly after the break.

Donk: 5 -
Pretty woeful throughout. Tried to send in a few crosses but didn't scare anyone with his attempts.

Klukowski: 6 -
Showed some intent in the second half when he flashed a shot over from range. Better, but only just, than his defensive colleagues.

Geraerts: 5.5 -
Gave the ball away far too frequently in the final third.

Odjidja: 6 -
Deserved better with his free-kicks and crosses which he provided with quality.

Blondel: 6 -
Anchored the midfield and had a punt from range in the first half.

Dirar: 5.5 -
Behaved like a prat for most of the game where he seemed more interested in starting a fight with Ebondo. Picked up a booking after the two clashed in the first half. Did test the keeper with a decent strike in the second half.

Perisic: 6.5 -
Gets a higher mark for his goal and his goal alone. Was a peripheral figures for most of the game as he switched flanks to get involved. To his credit he took his goal well but any decent player would have done the same.

Kouemaha: 6 -
His shooting failed to match his flashy yellow boots. Lacked confidence in the final third but in his defence he continued to try as the game went on.

Substitutes

Vargas: 7 - Was by far the best player on the pitch and made a real impression when he came on. Ran at players and created the winning goal. A highlight on a dull night for football.

TOULOUSE

Valverde: 6 -
Slipped on the cold turf early on he was more assured dealing with the half-chances which Brugge created.

Mbengue: 6 -
Had the measure of Donk when the duo contested set pieces.

Fofana: 5 -
Was shrugged off the ball by Kouemaha and lost the physical battle with the Cameroon striker.

Nounkeu: 5.5 -
Worked hard for his side and made a lung bursting run right back to prevent Vargas breaking clear.

Ebondo: 5 -
Like Dirar, he was similarly prat-like and picked up a booking up a booking for their handbags incident. Was booed for the rest of the night which was harsh but predictable.

Paulo Machado: 6.5 -
Showed brilliant skill with his flick and shot in the first half which almost opened the scoring. The only one who stood out in a dreadful performance by a limp Toulouse side.

Capoue: 5 -
Provided a funny moment in the first half when he hit a spectacular air shot and went to ground to spare his blushes.

Sissoko: 5.5 -
Had nothing in the way of support and struggled all game.

Tabanou: 5 -
A poor effort and was off by the hour mark.

Didot: 5.5 -
Lucky to survive a kung fu tackle from Blondel in the first half he did at least compete hard for the remainder of the game.

Gignac: 4.5 -
Just awful. Was more concerned with diving around which he did late in the first half when he lost a 50/50 ball. Required a stretcher after the incident which was laughable.

Substitues

Braaten: 5.5 -
Ghosted in and almost grabbed a winner late on with an opportunistic gamble forward.

Regattin: -
