Napoli's Walter Mazzarri: The Players Understood My Indications
The Partenopei are one of the most in-form teams in Serie A and they hope to continue their current form this weekend away to Catania...
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri explained the secret behind his side's recent run of excellent results, which coincided with his arrival at the club when he replaced Roberto Donadoni on the Partenopei's bench.
The Azzurri's form means they now stand in sixth place in the standings, just two points away from a Champions League spot.
"I succeeded to enter my lads' head, but they were also good mentally to understand my indications," declared the former Sampdoria coach to Tifosi Napoletani.
"I don't like making partial balances, therefore I wait for the end of the season to give judgements.
"My tactical project foresees three very offensive players, using the wings and alternating it with ball forwards apart from two defensive midfielders who are also very quick to give the possibility to the team to quicken the move in midfield to have more quality when assisting the attackers.
"Probably in the past there were various things that did not work out properly, but I don't allow myself to judge them."
Napoli have obtained three wins and a draw in the past four games since Mazzarri took over, including matches against Fiorentina, Milan and Juventus.
