Middlesbrough's Robert Huth is heading for the exit door and is seeking an immediate return to the Premier League, with a move to Fulham on the cards according to reports in The Daily Mirror.

The German international defender had an injury-hit time with Middlesbrough after moving to the Riverside from Chelsea in a £6 million deal in 2006.

However, given his injury record and 'Boro's subsequent relegation last season, Fulham would only have to pay £2m to secure the centre-back's services.

Fulham have already failed to lure Hull City's Michael Turner and Juventus' Christian Poulsen to Craven Cottage as manager Roy Hodgson desperately seeks new blood to allow his side to compete domestically and in Europe.
