Roma’s Taddei Set For Lengthy Lay-Off
The Brazilian could face up to seven weeks on the sidelines after pulling up with a calf problem during the Giallorossi’s last training session.
Roma will host Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in a crucial Champions League clash tonight, with a point enough to ensure the Italians' passage to the knock-out stage of the competition.
Coach Luciano Spalletti will not be able to count on Rodrigo Taddei, who has suffered a calf strain in training and now faces an anxious wait to know the extent of his problem.
He will undergo further medical tests over the next few hours, but if the initial diagnosis will be confirmed, he is likely to be ruled out for six to seven weeks.
He would hence be in line for a return to action in the home game with Milan after the Christmas break.
This latest setback for the 28-year-old comes at the worst possible time for Spalletti, as he is already dealing with a spate of injuries to midfielders Alberto Aquilani and David Pizarro, while defenders Christian Panucci and Max Tonetto will also sit out tonight’s meeting.
